PURPLE CABBAGE PORIYAL/STIR FRY

Hi friends, today I post Purple cabbage poriyal/Stir fry... In my native purple cabbage not getting frequently even couldn't see any where in the market too... When I stayed in the Coimbatore for my studies I bought there and brought to my home... 

In my home all are love the taste of it... We used to make pakoda, porial n etc... I will post the pakoda recipe soon... This time my mom n dad went to Kannan departmental stores n found this cabbage on the time, so they picked as quickly... Love the color too is it? You too try this n enjoy...

Yummy n Colorful Poriyal

INGREDIENTS
Purple Cabbage Shredded - 1 cup
Oil- 2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Dry red chillies - 2
Shallots - 12 chopped
Green chillies - 2 slit
Curry leaves - 1 stick
Grated coconut - 3 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - to sprinkle for cabbage


METHOD

  • Heat oil in a pan add urad dal and mustard seeds and dry red chillies wait for splutter it.




















  • Now add chopped shallots, and curry leaves fry for few minutes and add green chillies fry well till turns transparent.






















  • Now add shredded cabbage and mix well and sprinkle some water to cook the cabbage with salt.


























  • Now it well cooked but be sure it won't get too cooked it have to be light crunchy otherwise it will be too mushy. 
  • Now add grated coconut and mix it well and switch off the flame.




















  • Serve it with Sambhar/Rasam Rice...
