ONION GRAVY (No Tomatoes)

Chapathi chapathi chapathi... In my home minimum 3-4 days this chapathi will attend... So have to prepare different side dish... My dad loves chapathi so we prepare quite often... This onion gravy is very tasty and delicious one... you too try this and tell me...



INGREDIENTS

Oil - 3 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Musturd seeds - 1 tsp
Dry red chillies - 4
Garlic - 10 pods crushed
Green chillies - 2
Curry leaves - 1 stick
Onion - 4 chopped length wise
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Sambhar powder - 1 tsp
Bengal gram flour - 2 tsp
Water - 1 cup to mix with gram flour


METHOD


  • Heat oil in a pan and all seasoning items wait it for splutter.

  • Now add crushed garlic followed by green chillies and curry leaves fry for few minutes.















  • Add chopped onion fry well with salt and turmeric powder till it transparency comes.














  • Next add 1 tsp of sambhar powder and fry for few minutes.














  • Now add water to gram flour and mix well without any lumps and pour this mixture into the masala and mix well.


















  • Wait for boiling to cook well and keep low flame for 5 minutes and switch off flame garnish with coriander leaves.














  • Now serve hot with Chapathi/Poori...

VANILLA CUSTARD CAKE

Hi friends, hope you enjoyed weekends... Well! I couldn't post regularly for past few days due to my traveling for temples... yet more one week will take to back regular blogging... But I make time to post... Thanks for visiting my space regularly blogging friends!! Keep visiting... I miss those days...

Fine! Today am posting cake... Yesterday my cousin came so I thought to prepare something for him... And I asked him that what you want? He told that I want Cake Akka... I bought Custard powder and kept in fridge for few weeks... So I thought to prepare Custard cake... And I couldn't use butter on that day because butter no stock in my home so I used Vegetable Oil...  It comes out good... You too try this and let me know friends.....



INGREDIENTS
Maida (All purpose flour) - 1 cup
Vanilla Custard powder - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil - 3/4 cup
Water - 1/2 cup

METHOD

  • Preheat the oven on 180 degrees. 
  • First sieve maida, vanilla custard powder and baking powder, keep aside.


















  • Now take sugar in a bowl, add oil to it mix well and add water beat well.
















  • Now pour the wet mix into dry mix, mix well till it combined.









  • Dust baking tray with maida.






  • Pour the cake batter on the baking tray. 







  • Keep it in oven for 30-35 minutes.
  • Check with knife or fork for non sticky.

DRY CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY

Today I bring Dry curry leaves chutney... Yes! It is very delicious and colorful... In my home all are love this chutney. My mom used to keep stock dry curry leaves all the time. It is helpful in many ways. We usually dry the curry leaves in oven (will Post soon). It is very easy and simple chutney but full of nutritious... You can too try this and let me know the results...



INGREDIENTS

To Grind

Dry Curry leaves - 1 handful
Tomatoes - 2 small chopped
Dry red chillies - 3
Garlic pods - 5
Fried gram (Pottu kadalai) - 1 tsp (I used pottu kadalai powder)
Salt - to taste
Water - as you need

To Temper

Oil - 1 tsp
Musturd seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp





METHOD


  • Put all the ingredients to grind in the mixie jar.








  • Grind it well with water and pour into a bowl.










  • Heat oil in a pan add musturd seeds and urad dal wait it for splutter.



















  • Pour into the chutney and mix well. Serve hot with Idli/Dosa...

BLACK CHANNA GRAVY (NO COCONUT)

Hi my friends, today am posting Black channa gravy... Black channa is very nutrious and tasty... I will use this gravy for roti and rice too...




INGREDIENTS
Boiled Channa with salt - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Musturd seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Onion - 1 chopped
Curry leaves - 1 stick
Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Curry masala powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Coriander leaves - to garnish

To Grind
Oil- 1 tsp
Shallots - 1/2 cup
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 10 pods
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Tomato - 1 chopped
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp (I used roast and ground poppy seeds)



METHOD

  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, add shallots, ginger, garlic, 1 tsp of fennel seeds and 1 tsp of poppy seeds fry for sometimes.
  • Now add chopped Tomato fry well and add 1 Tbsp of Black channa to it and switch off the flame.











  • Cool down the mixture and grind it well.
























  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan, add fennel seeds, cumin seeds, musturd and urad dal wait it for splutter.
  • Now add chopped onion and fry well.




















  • Now add black channa and fry for few minutes.



















  • Now add all spice powders with salt and mix well and fry till aroma comes.









  • Now add the ground paste, curry leaves and mix well and now add the channa boiled water or normal water.



















  • Cook it for sometimes till oil separates from gravy.







  • Now sprinkle coriander leaves to it.







  • Now serve hot with rice or roti...
