METHU VADA/URAD DAL VADA

Hi friends, I already told you that guests are in my home... My mom asked me to prepare methu vada (urad dal vada) for kids... N I followed the recipe from Nithu's Kitchen... and the vada comes out very well and crispy... Kids and all are really enjoyed the vada...

MY FIRST EVENT - FEAST FOR YOUR GURU

Hi dear friends, after I start blogging am going to conduct an event... I thought to do this for long time but time not persist me though I wait to get some knowledge and experience about it... So now I think this is the right time to conduct the event and I came with the theme and plan to give awards (details later)...

MY THEME NAME IS FEAST FOR YOUR GURU

Yeah! I can hear your question that Which Guru? Right?  We usually learn anything with guru blessings such as studies, business, arts, singing,  etc... For cooking too we learnt from our mom, mother-in-law, sisters, aunty, neighbors, cook books (Author - Chef) and even in TV Cooking show (Chefs)  sometimes father and friends too... Isn't it? In our Indian culture always having great place and respect to our teachers...

Hi friends, this week my home is full of sounds n fun of kids, yeah! Here quarterly exam holidays for children, so guest came to my home... so full busy with kids and relatives... CHOCOLATE DOSA

Hi friends, today I am posting Chocolate Dosa... This one is I tried on my own thinking...

Dosa is a pancake type breakfast food that is popular throughout South Indian and Sri lanka..

BENEFITS

  • Rich in carbohydrate, no salt and has saturated fats. 
  • It contains legume (black gram - ulunthu)so its rich in protein, anti-oxidant activity.
  • Chocolate - high in anti-oxidant activity, Blood pressure management, Lowel LDL cholesterol, natural anti-depressant, cancer fighter, longer life and less disease.

INGREDIENTS
Dosa batter - 1 cup
Hot chocolate powder - 2 Tsp
Oil - to sprinkle



METHOD
  • Heat dosa tawa and pour dosa batter on it and spread it fully.




















  • Sprinkle hot chocolate powder over the dosa batter.




















  • Sprinkle oil on it and cover with lid wait for 1 minute.


















  • Remove the lid and take the dosa from the pan serve it hot...

AVARAIKAI/BROAD BEAN CURRY

Avaraikai/Broadbean curry is very suits for sambhar, rasam and any other rice varieities.

    INGREDIENTS
   
 Oil- 3 Tsp
 Fennel seeds - 1 Tsp
 Mustard and Urad dal - 1 Tsp
 Shallots medium - 15 chopped
 Curry leaves - 1 stick
 Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
 Avaraikai/Indian Broadbean - 1/4 Kg 
 Kuzhambu Chilli powder - 1 1/2 Tsp 
 Coriander powder - 1 Tsp 
 Salt - To taste 
 Water - 1/2 Cup or to immerse beans



METHOD
  • First washed and peel out the side fibre from the beans and chopped it.



  • Heat oil in a pan adds fennel seeds, mustard and urad dal wait it for splutter.

  • Now put shallots and curry leaves with turmeric powder fry till shallots turn transparent.



















  • Now mix Avaraikai/Indian Broadbeans to it and fry for 1 minute.




  • Next add kuzhambu chilli powder, coriander powder and salt fry for 3-4 minutes to remove raw smell.



  • Pour required water and cover with lid, let it boil for 15 minutes on low flame but stir well often. 

















  • Now check the bean is cooked, still water on it keep it in high flame with stirring till it thickens and switch off the flame.
















  • Serve it hot with any rice varieties...
