varuthu-aracha-sambhar

Onam is a festival celebrated by the people of Kerala. Usually, Onam will be celebrated for ten days with lots of cultural functions. When I studied in hostel, my mallu friends used to celebrate onam festival with us. They put pookolam (floral carpet), and then do dance with their traditional sandal saree. This year onam falls on 7th September.

I would like to treat and wish my malayalee friends and readers with some recipes; I do not have much time, so I could do only three recipes on this year. The first recipe of onam special is Arachuvitta sambhar. Its traditional recipe in Kerala with freshly ground spices with their god’s gift coconut…J I couldn’t see their recipes without coconut.

Onam-recipes

Arachuvitta Sambhar (lentil gravy with freshly ground spices), is very aromatic and tasty. I heard about the sambhar after coming into the blog world. But I had tasted unniyappam and other some sweet recipes, especially nenthram chips…
