“Healthy foods always tasteless” who
said, I don’t know but somewhere I heard it. But we can make it tastiest one
with our twists, right? Plantain flower/vazhai poo is very healthy and
wonderful in structure. Mostly, the banana tree will give all the parts to our
use, starting from banana stem to leaves… What a wonderful creation of nature!!
Vazhai poo is one of my favourite when my mom makes kola or vadai and somehow
will have in kootu form but not as poriyal.
Many kids or poor eaters like me used
to avoid the healthy ingredients, and am sure you will love the vada even kids
will not identify what was it is and they will enjoy every bites of the crispy
vadai. It doesn’t need onion and easy way to make the vada… The only difficult
part is to clean the plantain flower. I already shared that how to clean the
banana flower in my previous post of vazhaipoo kola.
Cleaning
of plantain in a brief
- It may take half-one hour to clean. The flower has many petal each petal having many florets which look like banana.
- So first remove one petal, now you can see the bunch of florets, pick out from it and lightly rub in your palm
- Then you can see the large vein and rubber type of fiber remove and discard it.
- Do this method after removing each petals and as you go inside the florets size will be vary.
