Hi, we used to make idli upma from left
over idlis... For a change we can use those idlis to spicy and yummy taste...
you can use fresh idlis too for this
recipes... kids will love this ....try out in your home...
INGREDIENTS
Oil - 2 tsp
Fennel seeds (Sombu) - 1 tsp
Musturd - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Onion - 1/2 cup chopped
Garlic - 15 pods chopped
Tomato - 2 chopped
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Curry masal powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli sauce - 1 tsp
Soya sauce - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 2 tsp
Idli/Dosa pieces - 1 plate
Coriander leaves - for garnishing
METHOD
- In a kadai heat oil, add fennel seeds, musturd seeds and urad dal till it splutter.
- Add chopped garlic fry for few seconds, add onions and fry till golden brown.
- Add in tomatoes and salt, cook till oil separates.
- Add all spices and mix well.
- Now add red chilli sauce and soy sauce stir well.
- Sprinkle 2 tsp of water to it and mix well like gravy.
- Now put the idli pieces and mix well till everything is combined.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve spicy chilli idli.
Note: I used to make dosa in microwave oven for this recipe.
