Source - My Own
INGREDIENT
Chana dal/Bengal gram – ½ Cup (soaked for 2-3 hours)
Shredded cabbage – ¾th Cup
Garlic – 10, pods
Ginger – 1” piece
Dry red chillies – 5-6
Fennel seeds – 2 Tsp
Shallots – ¼ Cup, chopped
Green chillies – 2, chopped
Curry leaves – Few
Salt – To taste
Oil – To deep fry
METHOD
- Take 1 Tbsp of chana dal separately.
- Grind the garlic, ginger, dry red chillies and fenugreek in blender, and then add chana dal to the mixture and blend it with little water. It should be enough to shape ball, so don’t add more water.
- Now transfer the batter into a mixing bowl, add shallots, curry leaves, green chillies and salt with 1 Tbsp of chana dal.
- Mix it well till everything combines and make equal size balls and keep it ready.
- Heat oil for deep fry, when the oil is hot enough; flat the balls gently and add to the moderate hot oil and deep fry both sides till golden brown.
- Serve it hot…
NOTE
- If you feel the batter will more water content, add gram flour to it and mix it.
- Add onions instead of shallots, if you prefer.
- Always wash the onion and chop, if you chop and wash it will contains more water which leads to absorb more oil.
