TOMATO PODI PULAO (NO ONION)

Hi my dear friends, hope all Kerala   friends celebrated well Onam festival... Well!!! Today I posting tomato podi rice which is very easy to prepare in quick time with very few ingredients and no need onion and garlic too. But the taste is fabulous, I learnt it from my sister Nathiya, its her MIL's recipe... Kids will love the rice and perfect for lunch box too when you get up late... You too try this and let me know...





INGREDIENTS
Cooked rice - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Tomatoes - 3 or tomato puree 
Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
Idli podi - 1/2 Tbsp 
Salt - to taste




METHOD 

  • First make the tomatoes into puree or you can use ready tomato puree.
  • I prepared puree mashed by hand because when I prepare the rice no power supply :-(














  • Now heat oil in a pan, add fennel seeds, cumin seeds and mustard seeds wait it for splutter and add hing.





  • Now add tomato puree with salt to this and fry well.










  • Now add red chilli powder mix and fry well till oil separates from the gravy.



  • Next keep the flame on low add Idli podi mix well and switch off the flame.



  • Now add cooked rice and mix well and serve hot with papad or potato fry.




HAVE THIS YUMMY TOMATO PODI RICE!!
